BlackandChristian.com wishes to expres our prayers and concerns for all of those who experienced loss and suffering and to the evacuees and survivors.

We are posting articles in our news and updates section as we get information on Black Church denominational efforts as well as any local efforts at helping.

If you have information on local efforts in your community by churches or religious organizations, please post that information.

We applaud the efforts of the Red Cross and Salvation Army and other large relief agencies at providing assistance but we also know that there are likely to be many communities where assistance is slow to arrive. So we are asking for local or denominational organizing efforts.

Also, it has come to our attention, as many of you know, that families and relatives around the country are housing family members and those who managed to escape. These families are calling their local churches needing assistance with feeding, clothing and housing as many as 20 individuals.

Check with your local church to find out if there are families within your congregation who need help with helping those who need help.

God Bless and thank you for your support.
